Madagascar

Tour the Great Red Island

23 days
23 September to 15 October 2008

Madagascar is inhabited by many weird and wonderful species that would be considered impossible anywhere else. This exotic “island continent”, in the heart of the Indian Ocean, is an amazing change of scene. We are thrilled to once again extend this invitation to explore one of the least-known, yet most remarkable bastions of nature remaining on earth.

Being a mammoth and rugged island with mountain ridges running most of its length from north to south, Madagascar contains many differing ecosystems within its boundaries. During this tour you will discover the beautiful Lemurs (the most ancient relatives of monkeys and humans), which range from mouse-sized to over three-feet high. These endearing creatures feature very large, expressive eyes and are often very curious and unafraid of man. Madagascar’s fauna also includes colourful and bizarre looking chameleons, reptiles, giant butterflies and great numbers of birds.

Our visits to world-renowned National Parks in many diverse locations will offer you the opportunity to see many different lemurs at extraordinarily close range. En-route to and from Madagascar we will stop in Mauritius to enjoy a relaxing time at a beautiful beachside hotel. Space on this tour, designed especially for our direct clientele, is strictly limited, so we advise you to book early.

This is a rare opportunity to experience an adventure to a different world. Charming and friendly people, vibrant and fascinating cultures and, of course, spectacular scenery with endless photographic opportunities. We do hope you can join us!
