Thank you so much to Sue and Henrik for the trip this year on the little vessel M/V Togo. Sue did a great job finding a replacement vessel at relatively short notice. The tour in Scoresby Sund had amazing scenery and being in the zodiacs amongst the gigantic icebergs was amazing. Just the size of Scoresby Sund and the variety of the tundra in the area is really interesting to see. Being just a small group of 10 passengers meant that there are so many more opportunities to explore the area. The Northern Lights were amazing and were giving a great display most nights. I learnt so much about the area and I had no idea Greenland was so large. The visit to the small village of Ittoqqortoormiit just topped off the whole trip. We were extremely well looked after and I would thoroughly recommend this great experience.

Ethiopia is unlike any other African country I have ever visited and full of surprises.  Sues comprehensive coverage gave us a window into the lives of the local people and the fascinating history that shaped the country.  According to Daniel our gentle and knowledgeable guide, September was a great time to see the country, as it was lush and green at the tail end of the wet season. I was especially glad to have travelled on the 27 day Ethiopia – Ancient Abyssinia trip Adventure Associates offered. There was so much to learn about the mountain wildlife, the tribal peoples and their traditions in the south and the ancient history of remarkable rock-hewn churches and religious festivals of the north.
Our driver Solomon was exceptional and safe, we had several flights to ease the distances.  Sue chose delightful accommodation in all the places we stayed and mostly all meals were included. One of the secrets of the itinerary was that in many cases we had 2 to 3 nights in the one place which is a huge bonus in my opinion.  
Truly an extraordinary adventure, thank you Sue, Daniel and Solomon.

We travelled to Madagascar in May 2019. Only ones on the trip with our own driver and excellent guide. Sue’s itinerary is great, time on roads to see how the Malagasy live and flights to cover longer distances. Food, accommodation, wildlife and geological experiences were wonderful. Great walks at Isalo. Guides went out of their way to ensure you could see the lemurs. Loved it all especially the lemurs and wonderful chameleons.

Travelled with Daniel & Sue in September 2019 through Ethiopia. I had memories of seeing an National Geographic article on Ethiopia/Abyssinia as a child and when the opportunity arose I jumped at it. The trip was outstanding- scenery/wildlife/people/culture/accommodation/food/company. When one can only complain about the perforations in the toilet paper – one knows it was an outstanding Journey. I can only congratulate Sue for finding Daniel and her organisation of the whole journey. Best parts were possibly seeing Ethiopian Wolves/walking with bands of Geladas/ viewing the Meskel ceremony in Bahir Dar, the numerous church paintings, Gondar castles and the lalibela chuches. Thanks Sue for this wonderful opportunity.

A tour to Svalbard and a cruise on the beautiful ship”Sjoveien” is not just an ordinary cruise, it’s a cruise of a lifetime especially when led by such competent guides like Henrik and Sue. They took us to an area of magical and intense beauty, a desert of Glaciers, Ice and Water. Henrik’s and Sue’s determination to fulfil our hopes of seeing as much wild life as possible was very special. The camaraderie of their eleven guests who had never met and were from three different countries was amazing. We shall cherished
memories of this wonderful trip forever.

We have always considered Sue’s trip to Madagascar as the most exotic and adventurous we have ever done. Our trip to Svalbard equaled that fantastic holiday.
Sue and Henrik complemented each other as knowledgeable guides and worked tirelessly to maximize opportunities to spot wildlife. The Sjøveien crew were all friendly and helpful, the chef coming up with a constant string of surprises at every meal. The small ship was surprisingly comfortable and well appointed. It was able to get us closer to the action than the larger ships. Of course we were there for the wildlife and scenery. Both were absolutely fantastic with up close encounters the norm. The beauty of so many birds and animals that have no fear of us allowed for many wonderful encounters.

When I said it ranked equal to our Commonwealth Bay trip I was a bit biased by the penguins. On reflection I now rank it as our best trip, no equals and Maud agrees. The ship and guiding are the stand outs.
Also how did you manage to get such a compatible group of people together? Or did you create the compatibility?
The amazing thing is that neither of us put on much weight despite Thomas’s superb meals.

From beginning to end, an amazing and wonderful trip. It’s rare to meet a company and guides who are so dedicated to giving their clients the best experience possible. Sue and Henrik are passionate about the Arctic and it shows. They are also extremely knowledgeable and experienced – and an absolute joy to spend 11 days with. I have not one single complaint. MS Sjøveien was a very comfortable, lovely boat to travel on. I believe that Thomas’ cooking is legendary at this point – for good reason – and the staff was kind, thoughtful and good humored throughout. I have only great things to say about this cruise and company! Would I recommend this trip? I already have! And will continue to do so because it stands out from all the others.

Svalbard is stunningly beautiful, stark, treeless landscapes, glaciers, ice sheets, all making for spectacular scenery. Then there is the wildlife. Some scenes straight out of a David Attenborough documentary, bird cliffs with populations in excess of 100,000 individuals, mobs of walrus, Arctic foxes, seals, reindeer and, of course, polar bears. Who could ask for more?
Travelling on Sjøveien was the perfect way to see Svalbard, comfortable, friendly and with all the benefits of a small ship and a small group. Capable of getting to places the large cruise ship owners could only dream about, and with highly competent and friendly crew, we were very privileged. Did I mention the food? Great meals every time, thank you Thomas.
Tour guides Henrik and Sue were outstanding, extremely knowledgeable and communicative, friendly and helpful when it was needed, without being overbearing and always willing to share their knowledge.
There was another positive. Once away from the main population centres we had the place almost to ourselves, rarely seeing another ship or person, wonderful! The remote Arctic as it should be. My only regret was that with 24 hours of daylight there were times when I had to sleep and couldn’t be outside!

Thanks for such a great trip. I really enjoyed it and haven’t stopped talking about it. Your itinerary was really great and I really appreciated all your assistance and the effort you (and Guy) put in to making sure what I ate was safe for me. Everything worked very smoothly but I know that was due to the work you put into managing things in the background. I think it is one of the best trips that I have been on.

Our guide Pankaj and driver Jaigdip(?) Singh were excellent and took great care of our comfort and safety on the eventful trip from Chandigargh to Manali, providing us with plenty of water and snacks.
Their concern and courtesy arranging my ‘washroom’ needs was much appreciated!
All the scenery was magnificent and Ladakh well worth our wait and the travel there.
The roads and the traffic was a great lesson in courtesy and safe vehicle management by all drivers.
The steady acclimatisation in travelling by car no doubt contributed to our not experiencing any altitude/mountain sickness problems.
All the hotels while obviously very varied we found good and enjoyable – the Sten-Dal in Diskit particularly so.

I have been very fortunate in having many travel opportunities and not least of all the Svalbard Archipelago with Adventure Associates. This amazing adventure was truly packed with all you would wish for; from spectacular scenery, fascinating wildlife and the coziness of a small ship which also enabled one to navigate where larger vessels couldn’t venture. I can still hear the walrus frolicking and talking to each other under the water – so many wonderful memories. Many many thanks to the Tour Guides Henrik & Sue and the Sjøveien Crew. If it wasn’t for my thirst to see somewhere not yet ventured I would love to experience this trip again – perhaps next year!

We would like to commend Sue on her super organisation of our recent tour of Madagascar. It was an exceptional month away, leaving us with a humble respect for the Malagasy people.
